How has your art style/what you make changed since we last talked (summer 2022)?
My art style has changed quite a lot this year, I’ve been learning new techniques and adventuring new styles and learning so much about myself and just overall figuring out what I enjoy and like.
Tell me about yourself as a creator!
I’m Spookyratt! I’m a mixed media artist based in Fort Worth,TX. My goal is to connect with others by expressing and capturing emotions through my work and just inviting people inside my mind.
What do you hope to accomplish with your business/work?
My goal with my work is to help inspire others and to connect with people through my art. I want to venture out more and start doing more shows and connect and meet more people as well as just be able to live off my art. I also really want to do bigger projects and collaborate with other artist!
Your work was shown in New York!!! Tell me about your experience!
It was a lot of fun! This past year I had 3 of my first art showings all in NYC and it was nice to be able to meet and talk with other artist. I got to see a little bit of the art world which was really nice to see. Overall the experience was so cool and really helped me learn and grow.
What advice would you give to small art businesses just starting out?
BE CONSISTENT. Learn to push yourself and to be stubborn with your craft, don’t be afraid to try new things and to venture out of your comfort zone. And my top advice is DO NOT DOUBT YOURSELF. Being an artist can be hard and it can be difficult being your own boss but remember why you’re doing it and remember that you are the artist you say you are.

What do you sell/make?
I make mixed media and abstract art, I work on a variety of things such as clothing, canvases, digital art, etc.
Tell me about yourself as a creator!
I’m an artist based in Fort Worth, Tx. I express myself through my art and get my inspiration from a variety of things that I surround myself with.
What do you hope to accomplish with this business?
My goal for the future is to continue to be able to express myself and connect with others through my art. I want to inspire others and show people that you can accomplish whatever you really put your mind to.
Where do you sell? (art festivals, store front, online?)
I sell mainly at markets at the moment but I do sell online through my social media and have a my own website for merch. I’m currently in the process of making a website for people to be able to buy my art around the globe.
What do you feel sets you apart from other businesses?
As an artist I feel what sets me apart from others is that I have a rawness to my work. I’m very expressive and more about the process of making the work then the outcome of the art pieces. It gives my pieces more of a story and adds more curiosity to how it was made or how many pieces I made under the one that’s showing.
